Training Program Code: DG-ACC
Training Method: Classroom (Instructor Led)
Duration: Initial Minimum 7 Days (42 Hours), Recurrent Minimum 4 Days (24 Hours)
Prerequisite: (For Initial)-No, (For recurrent)- valid previous initial/ recurrent certification (of the same job function)
Target Group: Airlines, Cargo Handling Agents & Ground Handling Agents staff responsible for
acceptance of Dangerous Goods Consignments. Dangerous Goods Instructors.

Objectives:

After thorough study and use of this training workbook participants shall be able to:

  • Understand the regulatory requirements and correctly apply the provisions of Dangerous Goods Regulations;
  • Apply the legal aspects involved;
  • Identify the nine classes of dangerous goods by their principle criteria.
  • Navigate through the alphabetical List of Dangerous Goods and apply the information it contains.
  • Apply the general packing requirements and the specific packing instructions to verify that they have been followed.
  • Verify that the use of a packaging complies with the limitations of the specification indicated on the package.
  • Verify the marks and labels on the package containing dangerous goods.
  • Verify Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods and supporting documents shared by the shipper, if they are in compliance with the regulations and requirements.
  • Verify if the correct and complete statement is made on the Air Waybill.
  • Verify if the appropriate state and/or operator variations are compiled correctly.
  • Accept or reject the dangerous goods (including Class 7) consignment by using acceptance checklist and list down the reasons (if rejected).
  • Follow general emergency procedures in case of dangerous goods occurrence, if discovered.
  • Report dangerous goods occurrences as per the local regulations.
  • Perform tasks involved in accepting dangerous goods consignments.
